FLORIDA (Pass-A-Grille)

Feb. 28th, we boarded Lexi and went to spend the night with Linda and Joel Lawson where they were renting a condo on Indian Beach.  A MUST was the "Seahorse" for breakfast and hunting sea shells.  They have the very best grits!!!

FLORIDA (Thonotosassa Campground) Feb. 2013

We drove on and set up camp at Happy Traveler RV Park in Thonotosassa, FL for over a week.  It is right across from a big flea market but it was only open on weekends.
You can't see it in this photo but the Spanish moss is hanging from all the trees.
A couple we met last summer in Indiana, Deb and Charlie Purvis, live in Trinity, FL. and it was exciting to "hook up" with them again.  They invited us to their home to enjoy the race that Sunday.  We also visited the original Columbia Restaurant, Ybor, FL

It was fortunate that our schedules worked out that Purvis and Lawson could join up for a day to visit Dali Museum and eat at John's Pass

What a fun day!!

FLORIDA - Lady Lake (Mt. Dora)

Shepherds were wondering about Mt. Dora so John, Judy Ness and ourselves road
over to explore.
It was a quaint town and we enjoyed walking the streets and visiting shops.  We dropped into a little German Restaurant and it was very good.   It was a great day.

"FLORIDA" - Lady Lake (St. Augustine visit)

We took a day trip across FL. with John and Judy to St. Augustine.  We had never been there and enjoyed the fort and city.

"FLORIDA" - Lady Lake (The Villages)

From Mississippi (Feb. 12) we ventured to Florida. We were hoping to stop at Panama City but it rained and stormed all the way into Florida so we kept moving.  We camped at Lady Lake, FL and had a fun visit with John and Judy Ness.  They have a 2nd home in a retirement community near there.  They were gracious enough to abandon their active schedule to show us around their area.  One of the many interesting things we saw was "The Villages"  Retirement Community.  There are over 8700 seniors that live there.  They have 2 "town squares" and developing a new section with a 3rd "town square" - each with a different theme.  The first one was Spanish, 2nd was Beach, and 3rd is Western.  Like a Disneyworld for Seniors!  Anything you would want is within the community and you can just drive your golf cart.

I am so very far behind....Sorry "MISSISSIPPI"

So much has happened in the past month that I cannot possibly catch up properly so here goes the condensed version....

We had a great visit with all family and friend in Texas and look forward to future visits.  Thanks for all our "tour guides".

From Texas we went to Washington (outside of Natchez) to see Aunt Gracie and Uncle Allen Blanton and their family.  It was a fun visit and was grateful that cousin Woody was in town so he and wife, Miranda, were able to join us.  There is nothing as great as family!
